Recently The Grand Old Publication released a poll to Ithaca College students asking about their political affiliation and the stance on many of the issues that affect us daily. On of the most interesting take a way’s that struck me first is the number who sided with the left and the percentage of who answered “not to much to “how much power should the national government have”. Most of us, smart educated conservative republicans, know that democrats equal large government and control and republican government is a peoples party, giving the people the rights not the government. So if this is the case, which it is, why do these self proclaimed democrats say they want not so much? It seems that they have a lack of fundamental knowledge of politics and need a better understanding so they know they republican side is for them. Another interesting fact was that a relatively high percentage of people taking, again mostly democrats, the survey said the U.S. shouldn’t allow Syrian refuges. This means that while the vast majority of republicans do not want the refuges there is hope in these young democrats as just shy of half said they would not want the refuges in our country. I think that with a quick crash course in politics for these democrats we could bring them to our side with the greener grass and restore America to its former greatness.
